The Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at DTU invites applications for a position as Senior Researcher in Microreactor Development.

The position is attached to the recently established Center for Process Engineering and Technology at the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering. Research in this center is focused on development and application of novel reactor types for fermentation, biocatalysis and pharmaceutical production. The vision of the center is that our research efforts should result in more environmentally friendly and more efficient processes – leaner and greener processes.

The candidate is expected to apply for, lead and manage externally funded research projects. The candidate must contribute to the generation of new research projects and the academic and organisational development in the center. In particular, the candidate is expected to strengthen the research within development and application of microreactors.

The candidate is expected to develop and conduct research, to publish internationally, to otherwise disseminate research results, as well as to teach and supervise at B.Sc., M.Sc. and PhD level.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding a position as Researcher or Postdoc.

  • Didactic/pedagogic training

We are looking for a person with a research background within microreactor technology (> 5 years experience), preferably applied to biological systems. Furthermore, the person should have experience with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) (> 5 years experience).

We also expect:

  • proficiency in oral and written English

  • ability to generate and apply for research projects

  • engagement and responsibility

Assessment
In the assessment of the candidates consideration will be given to

  • research potential

  • the ability to promote and utilise research results

  • experience in funded research projects

  • potential to contribute to development of the center’s internal and external cooperation

  • affiliation with scientific and business networks

  • experience in teaching and education

  • an all-round experience basis

  • innovative skills and the ability to generate new ideas

Salary and conditions of employment
The position is offered for a period of 2 years.  The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union.
