Do you want to help develop innovative and environmentally friendly energy technologies for the future? The Fuel Cells and Solid State Chemistry Divison at Risø DTU is among the world’s research leaders in solid oxide fuel cells – a technology for clean and efficient conversion of chemical energy (in the form of, e.g., natural gas, hydrogen, biogas, ammonia or methanol) into electricity and heat. In addition we have activities within a number of related topics in functional ceramics, including high-temperature electrolysis, oxygen and hydrogen separation membranes, electrochemical flue gas purification and magnetic refrigeration. We are seeking a motivated Researcher for the Program for Thermoceramics, which focus on thin film oxide functional materials, magnetic refrigeration and thermoelectrics. Job description You will take part in the development and manufacture of thin ceramic films for the research in solid oxide cells, electronic oxides and thermoelectric materials with the use of our large-area Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) facility. Tasks include thin-film growth and characterization using mainly in-situ RHEED but also XPS, X-ray diffraction, and scanning and transmission electron microscopy. Prior hands-on experience in one or more areas such as micro-fabrication, lithography or electronic and ionic transport measurements of complex oxide thin films is required. Qualifications
