Senior Postdoctoral Scientist is required to work at the Nanobioelectronics & Biosensors Group at Catalan Institute of Nanotechnology (www.nanocat.org) in Bellaterra (Barcelona), Spain.
Start Date: July 1st, 2011 Duration: permanent position Description: The candidate should be a highly motivated and experienced scientist in the fields of nanobioelectronics and biosensors. Previous experience of the candidate in the design and application of nanomaterials (i.e. nanoparticles, nanochannels) based electrochemical sensors for DNA, protein and cell analysis is required. The objective of the candidate’s work will be to design novel devices and systems with improved performance and shown progress beyond the state of the art technologies. Strong background in electrochemistry and overall in ultrasensitive electrocatalytic approaches based on the use of nanoparticles with interest to design novel biosensors are required. The candidate should also have previous experience in biosensor applications in clinical field. Her/his previous experience in the application of electrochemical biosensors in real clinical samples in collaboration with clinical laboratories should be of special interest to promote the technology to the end users. Shown experience in the technologic validation of his/her previous research in terms of patents as well as the participation in international projects will be evaluated. The successful candidate will fit well into a collaborative environment and needs to exhibit strong leadership and excellent communication skills.
